Preschoolers 1
At elect we support the preschoolers self-esteem and positive feeling towards themselves and
their abilities to perform. We also guide behaviors with strategies that promote self-regulation
and age appropriate guidance strategies.
1- Social
- Interacting positively and respectfully.
- Cooperating as in explaining ideas and materials during play.
- Empathy.
- Interacting with adults.
2- Emotional
- Self-concept such as: developing responsibilities for themselves during dressing, eating,
and routines in daily living.
- Self-esteem such as: seeing themselves as worthy individuals.
- Expressing emotions such as: identifying their emotions.
- Self-regulation. Such as: expressing emotions appropriately.
3- Communication, language and literacy.
- Using verbal communication.
- Using Arabic, English, French and German.
- Vocabulary such as: using unfamiliar words.
- Listening to others. Enjoying literacy such as: choosing time to read with books.
- Letter recognition such as: identifying the letter that begins with their names.
4- Cognition
- Self-regulation such as: using language to regulate own behavior and attention.
- Representation such as: dramatic play such as: wearing costumes and playing roles.
- Classifying such as: sorting pictures into groups.
- Counting from one to ten.
5- Physical
- Gross motor skills such as: walking, jumping, hopping, throwing and riding.
- Fine motor skills such as: dressing, eating, drawing, using tools like cutting papers in
straight lines.
- Auditory skills and music like showing enjoyment when listening to music.
